$5 Meals

I was asked recently if I could really provide a meal for my family for less than it would cost to grab a Hot and Ready pizza from Little Ceaser's. My fellow couponers of course know that is totally possible!
I am going to be providing $5 or less meal ideas regularly now. They will be made up of items that should be in your storage from previous coupon match-ups or deals and also current sale/coupon items. These meals are designed to feed a family of 4. If you have teenagers, you would likely double it. But then you'd probably have to get another $5 pizza too if you were taking that route.
Tonight's $5 menu:

Spaghetti with ground turkey

Barilla Whole Grain Wheat Spaghetti noodles $1 at Fresh Market (around 2 months ago)
-$1/2 Barilla pastas= $.50

Ragu pasta Sauce $.75 @ Macey's wyb 10 (current sale)

Jenni-O Ground Turkey $1 (frozen;Fresh Market's meat clearance section, 2 months ago)

Red Leaf Lettuce .69 @ Rancho Market (last week's sale)

Roma Tomatoes 3 lb/$1 @ Rancho Market (current sale)

Kraft 16 oz Dressing $1.50 @ Macey's (current sale)

Total approximate cost: $4.84

This meal is a good example of how to use/rotate your stockpile/food storage. As often as possible, mix ingredients from storage with current sale items to maximize your savings and to ensure that none of your storage goes bad.
You CAN feed your family healthy food on a budget!
