Nuts

I went to Walmart in Springville today to do some double coupons. I have recently done the math on the almonds and pistachios that I had been buying at the dollar store versus using a coupon for Wonderful brand nuts. Doubling the $.50 coupons for almonds and pistachios is a better deal per ounce than the dollar store. Not sure about the walnuts or cashews yet. I will have to check it out.I know that the bags of shelled peanuts the dollar store gets are still cheaper than getting them elsewhere.
I didn't grab anything too exciting with my coupons today, just nuts, cheese sticks and deli meat.
Two of the deals I did grab are worth mentioning:

Frigo 12 ct String Cheese $2.98
-$.50/1 Frigo (doubled)= $1.98

12 pack Coke products 3/$9 ad matched with Target= $.25 per can!

Still waiting to see Smith's new ad.... hoping for something exciting....   :)

Ps. My husband and I have a goal for this year that I would like to challenge you all to join in!
We are thrilled to have no credit card debt and have made the goal of acquiring NO credit card debt this year!!! I know it is possible with the right budgeting and as long as there aren't any disasters. Here's to making our goal a reality!

Stokes One Day Sale & a few notes

Stokes has some really cool one day sale prices happening tomorrow (Monday) ONLY!
Here are my favorites:
32 oz WF Shredded Cheese $3.97
-.25/1 any 2lb cheese

2 lb WF Medium Cheddar Cheese Loaf $3.97
-.25/1 any 2lb cheese

2.5 lb bag Boneless Skinless Chicken Breasts $3.97

24 oz Clover Honey $3.97

There are several other one day prices and Stokes always has unadvertised sales throughout the store, so make time to browse!

NOTES

Kellogg's Rewards:
If you don't know already, the coupons that you earn with your Kellogg's Rewards are sent in the mail, not printable online. Takes 4-6 weeks for delivery. Waiting patiently for mine. :)

Buy Low:
Buy Low is currently offering 70% off of their remaining inventory. I will try to head up there tomorrow to see what I see and will report if I do.

Macey's and Fresh Market's new ads are less than exciting. The only things I found worth heading in for are these:

Tomatoes .59/lb
Cucumbers 2/$1
Ronzoni noodles .88

Fresh Market does have a couple of good coupon match ups with it's General Mills Buy 10, Save $5 sale but nothing spectacular. :(

I'm excited to see Smith's new ad, hoping that they will have some good deals this week. Otherwise, this is going to be a boring week for deals. :(

Associated Foods

I hit my 3 local associated foods stores yesterday; Stokes, Macey's, and Fresh Market. They are all running variations of the same sale. I went with the stores that had the best prices on the things I wanted.

We've seen better prices than this before, on larger bags, but my family never eats them all before they go bad. So for us, this is a great deal! It isn't a good deal if it goes to waste!

$12 Challenge, Day 2

I was lucky to find a little more change on my husband's dresser and in the deep recesses of my purse.
So, truth be told, I went a bit over $12 but I did stick to my commitment of only spending cash on hand.

I hit the Springville Walmart and was much later than I had planned on being. It was just too darn cold this morning. So I missed out on a couple of things but am pleased with what I ended up with and with what I paid.

(7) El Monterey frozen burritos
(7) Lipton Iced Tea Single Serve Samplers
(1) Aquafresh Kids' Toothpaste
(1) men's Speedstick deodorant
(2) Duncan Hines Red Velvet Cake mixes
Your challenge: Guess how I did it!
I paid $1.98

Then I hit Smith's in Provo.

(1) Loaf Kroger Wheat Bread .88
(1) Dole Bagged Salad .99 (clearance)
(1) L'oreal Root Rescue $1.75 (clearance)
Your challenge: Guess how I did it!
I paid $2.05

So, today's total: $4.03

Total for the week: $14.73

For those who don't think you can do much with pocket change or that it isn't worth your two seconds to pick up a penny, I have happily disproved that belief! All done with change I have gathered!

Kellogg's Points

Kellogg's has a wonderful points/rewards system that you need to know about! Nearly every box of Kellogg's cereal and crackers (Keebler, etc) have codes printed inside the box. Enter these codes at Kelloggs. com. They add up quickly and you can redeem them for HIGH VALUE coupons. Most require 1000 points and allow you 5 total copies of each coupon.
I have been finding lots of Kellogg's product boxes in the recycling bins and all of them had unused codes! A great way to earn FREE goodies!

What can you do with $12?

I am sticking to my commitment to only spend money I actually have and this week I have just $12. With coupons and sales, I think I should be able to stretch it pretty far. Up for a competition?? What can you do with just $12?? I'd love for you to find out and let me know!!

Shameful

So I had to have a procedure done on my jaw yesterday. I knew it would put me out of commission for awhile, so I made sure to hit Smith's for another whack at the Mega 10 Event and I also hit all the Provo recycling bins, before heading to the doctor.
I am of course grateful for all the goodies that find, some of which I find a use for and others I sell. It still really bothers me though, the way that our schools are so wasteful.
I found tons of spiral notebooks!! A few of them had students' names written on the front but none of them had any writing inside. These were literally perfect condition notebooks that they just threw out! I will save some for my family's use but the majority I will sell at this summer's yard sale.
I also found some Spanish text books that I will sell online.
I can only wonder (with dismay) how many other things they throw out that I miss out on!! It really is shameful....

Deal of the day!

Here's one you can't miss out on!!
RITE AID

Keri Lotion $5.99
-$5 in ad coupon
-$2/1 any Keri Lotion
= +$1 overage!!!!

You won't get money back so apply that overage to something you need!

Smith's: A couple of notes

I've been scoping out Smith's as they are continuing their Mega 10 Event this week. I've decided that the most deals are going to be found at the Provo store. You can mix your Mega items with all their close out/coupon deals, add your earned Catalinas on top, and you will do really well!
I've been walking up and down each aisle looking for Close Out tags. I have found all kinds of great coupon match ups, including money makers. Apparently each store is different though. Payson didn't have nearly as many or as good of Close out prices as Provo. One thing they did have that you might be interested in:
On the Clearance end cap near the pharmacy, the whole bottom shelf is full of Quaker's Perfect Portions on clearance for $.99. There is an online printable coupon for $.50 off of one. So print as many as you can from your family and friends' computers, and you can stock up on lots of yummy oatmeal.
For anything else though, I recommend hitting the Smith's stores further north.
Bring along your coupon binder, your overstock coupon file box, and a pair of scissors. Then, just walk up and down each aisle and see what you find! A regular treasure hunt! Enjoy!!
